The Bind Ethos is a story of uncompromising and obsessive standards. It’s more than just buzz words, it’s a definable set of rules that each product is made under and the inspiration behind the name of the brand. Bind is the coming together of heritage crafted materials on both sides of the Atlantic, Binding standards, history, nations and quality into the best products we can possibly make here in the UK.
The Bind Ethos means:
Never design with materials aimed at economy, always for quality and high provenance without exception.
- Every aspect of a Bind product must be made with heritage European or North American materials of domestic origin unless otherwise impossible.
- Each and every individual product must be checked and signed for quality control by the founder without exception.
- Make each piece in the UK.
- Tell each product’s story.
These core rules are taken to the extreme and each product will state it’s heritage. Hundreds of years of history from Chicago to Tuscany, from Leeds to St. Louis, Belgium to Belfast….. all leathers, thread, metal hardware, oils, waxes, even the packaging, all materials we use made under the Ethos.
These rules will not be broken. Standards are everything.
Mother nature is a pretty nice lady and there’s no need to give her a hard time. We go to lengths to research every hide of leather we use. Using only heritage tanneries from Europe and North America under the Bind Ethos, we know the animal and origin of every handpicked skin so we can always be certain that our leathers are a traceable, ethical, by-product.
